Practice Schedule

Congratulations on an outstanding year so far. Now we must prepare ourselves for the Granddaddy of them All, The 125^th Tournament of Roses Parade on January 1, 2014. This will be the 4^th time the Homewood Patriot Band has marched in this prestigious event. We will be seen on all the major television networks, which are ABC, NBC, CBS, HGTV, Telemudo, SPAN, SKY Network and many others from around the world. We have to be perfect. Perfect practice is a must. We will do our main rehearsals at the stadium. Please make arrangements to get there. Make sure that you drive safely. Make sure that you park with caution. ONLY TENNIS SHOES WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK FOR PRACTICE. Make sure your ride is there to pick you up at the end of rehearsals. The schedule is as follows:

October 15            6-8            Stadium

October 29            3:30-5            Stadium

October 30            3:30-5            Stadium

November 5            3:30-5            Stadium

November 5            7 pm             Band Booster meeting (trip information)

November 7            3:30-5             Stadium

November 12            3:30-5            Stadium

November 14            3:30-5            Stadium

November 19            3:30-5            Stadium

November 21            3:30-5             Stadium

December 2            7:00            Meeting in Auditorium for all attending trip

December 3            3:30-5            Stadium           

December 5            3:30-5            Stadium           

December 9            3:30-5            Stadium

December 10            6            Homewood Christmas Parade Downtown

December 11            All Uniforms need to be cleaned and turned this week. All hats and boxes must be turned in today.

December 14            9-12            Band room Uniform repair day (we need help, lots of help)

December 18            1:30-3            Stadium

December 19            1:30-3            Stadium

December 20            1:30-3             HHS (we will load equipment truck after practice)

December 21            9-12            HHS (we will finish loading equipment trucks, need help)

December 28            Depart for Pasadena            Birmingham-Shuttlesworth Airport

January 2                 Arrive Homewood

The Tournament of Roses Parade is about 6 miles and takes about 2 hours to complete. All of you need to start walking in the afternoons to build up strength. We want everyone to make it to the end. You can all make it. Remember to come to rehearsals with a good attitude and ready to work.
